Ocala Anise is a fast and moderate growing shrub and tree that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7A through 11. It matures to an average height of 8 feet to 15 feet and an average width of 6 feet to 10 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, shade, morning sun with afternoon shade, morning shade with afternoon sun or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained or moderately drained. In the spring Ocala Anise produces yellow, light green and charteuse flowers. The foliage is light green and medium green in color. If you like fragrance, Ocala Anise has fragrant foliage.
Ocala Anise can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in foundation plantings, as a background, in shrub borders, under a shade tree, in landscape beds or islands, to frame the corners of a home or other building, grown flat against a wall, in small groupings or as a hedge and also in theme gardens or shade gardens.

Culture & Care Tips
Ocala Yellow Anise will grow in full sun to full shade and prefers a sandy, acidic soil, however adapts well to other soils. When planting in heavy clay it's a good idea to add some sand and/or soil conditioner to the backfill mixture. During the first year, water enough to keep soil moist. Will tolerate constantly moist soil.
