Noteworthy Characteristics
‘Pink Poppet’ is a dwarf, dense, rounded, Weigela that grows to only 2 feet tall and spreads to 2-3 feet wide. It is the product of a breeding program that took place in the Czech Republic. ‘Pink Poppet’ was selected for its dwarf growth habit, early-blooming pink flowers and winter hardiness. Funnel-shaped, light pink flowers bloom profusely in late spring and repeat often occurring in mid to late summer. The flowers are highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. The dark green leaves hold their color well throughout the season.
Uses
Pink Poppet's smaller size makes it perfect for use as a single specimen in smaller garden spaces, in groupings in larger garden spaces, in flowering shrub borders, as a low growing natural hedge, home foundation plantings, butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens, and cottage gardens.
Culture & Care Tips
Easily grown in average, medium, or well-drained soils. Prefers full sun for best performance, but will tolerate some sun dappled shade. Prune to shape immediately after flowering if desired.
