Agastache Aurantiaca 'Tango' is a moderate growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 10B. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the summer and fall Tango Agastache produces orange and red flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought and heat.
Tango Agastache can be useful in the landscape in mass plantings, in foundation plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, cottage gardens, hummingbird gardens or perennial gardens.
This easy to grow perennial is covered with bright, tubular orange-red flowers throughout summer and into fall. The orange-red colored flower plumes are dense with a wonderfully sweet honey-mint scent. For those who enjoy hummingbird watching, Tango Agastache is a must have in the garden. The hummingbirds just can't resist.
