Helen Johnson is a true dwarf Bougainvillea that deserves a spot in every garden where it will grow. Its low height to 3 feet makes it one of the best for massing as an absolutely stunning groundcover or low hedge, or in container gardens. Produces abundant clusters of bright pink flowers with a hint of purple. Newly opening flower bracts have an orange tone.
Uses
Where hardy outdoors, Helen Johnson Bougainvillea is useful as a groundcover, low hedge, to cascade over walls, in foundation plantings, or in container gardens. Where not winter hardy, it can be used outdoors as an annual in beds or as a container plant that can be overwintered indoors or in a greenhouse when night temperatures drop below 55 degrees.
