Additional Information About Ozark Premier Plum

Prunus Salicina 'Ozark Premier' is a moderate growing tree and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 6A through 10A. It matures to an average height of 15 feet to 20 feet and an average width of 15 feet to 20 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in loam or clay soil that is well drained. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts wildlife, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to drought, diseases and heat.

Ozark Plum can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas or grown flat against a wall and also in theme gardens or cottage gardens.

The Ozark premier is a large, plump, roundish plum with red skin and firm flesh that is yellow, fine-grained, and juicy. One of the best tasting plums available.  The trees are partially self-fertile, disease resistant, hardy and productive. Methley is a good pollinator.
