Noteworthy Characteristics
The Blue Chip was the first in the exciting new Lo & Behold™ series of dwarf Butterfly Bushes. Unlike the larger growing Butterfly Bushes the Blue Chip is much stronger and requires less maintenance. It's continuous blue flowers, that attract butterflies and hummingbirds, make this perennial shrub a must have for most every gardener!
Uses
Flowering single specimen, groupings, flowering shrub borders, natural hedge, home foundation plantings, container gardens, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, cottage gardens and just about anywhere in the garden that gets at least 4-5 hours of sun per day. Blue Chip Butterfly Bush is also deer resistant!
Culture & Care Tips
Like all Butterfly Bushes, 'Blue Chip' thrives in full sunshine - the more the merrier! - and any well-drained soil. Water and feed it well the first year to get its root system established in your garden. Once established it's quite forgiving of heat, humidity, poor soil, and even drought! And it needs no special care beyond a strong pruning in early spring -- cut it down to

Hi Zane - Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your review and the feedback. We were sorry to hear that the butterfly bush were a little on the small side so provided you with a 30% discount. We had such late cold weather this spring here in central Georgia that all of our butterfly bush were about a month or more behind in their development this season. Just be careful not to overwater them. Keep the soil moist but not constantly soggy or wet. Once established they will be exceptionally drought tolerant. We planted some of the Lo & Behold in our own gardens this season and they are taking off nicely now that the warmer weather has arrived. This is our top favorite variety out of about 20 dwarf varieties we have growing in our gardens. The numbers of blooms are simply amazing and the low and mounding habit is very attractive as well. Our oldest Lo & Behold Blue Chips are about 2.5 to 3 feet tall and about 3.5-4 feet wide after three years. We cut them back to about 12-inch high stumps every year in late winter.
