Prunus Persica 'Contender' is a moderate growing tree and fruit bearing plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4B through 8B. It matures to an average height of 12 feet to 15 feet and an average width of 10 feet to 15 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam or clay soil that is well drained. In the spring Contender Peach produces pink flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to drought and diseases.
