More About Spetchley Ivy...

Also known as 'Gnome' Ivy, Spetchley Miniature Ivy is one if the tiniest ivies in existence. The leaves are extremely small...half the size of a US dime. The leaves are three-lobed and solid green. It is slow growing to several feet wide and will climb several feet high on porous surfaces.

Spetchley can be grown in the landscape as a groundcover, climber, or in containers. It is a good selection for use between stepping stones provided the soil is very well-drained. If it is kept in an especially small pot the leaves will be their smallest, and without much effort on your part will likely grow into an interesting shape that is suitable for a cascading or semi-cascading bonsai. When planted against a stine or brick wall ot will slowly climb creating an interesting pattern on the wall.

As with other English ivies, Spetchley isn't too picky about soil type provided it is well-drained. It will tolerate full sun however looks and performs best with some shade during the hottest part of the day. In more sun it's growth will be more compact and dwarf.
