Additional Information About Liriope muscari 'Super Blue'

More About Super Blue Liriope...

This evergreen perennial of the lily family is one of the most widely used groundcover plants in existence - and for very good reason! Unlike other Liriope varieties that spread wildly, Super Blue forms neat clumps of grassy foliage that gradually increase in size over time, making it a perfect choice for use as a border. Lavender-violet blue flower spikes rise above the rich dark-green clumps of foliage during summer, followed by attractive black berries. Super Blue is slighty larger and more vigorous than it's family member 'Big Blue'.

USDA Zone: 5-9

Size: 1-3'H x 1-2'W

Sun Exposure: Shade or part sun

Soil / Moisture: Well drained soil with average to low water needs

Tolerances:  Tolerant of heat, and drought. Resistant to insects, disease, mildew, and deer

Attracts: Hummingbirds and visual Attention

Notable Characteristics: Ecellent groundcover, beautiful spike-like lavender-violet flowers in summer

Uses & Styles: Excellent for use in hummingbird gardens, borders, containers, groupings, Japanese gardens, mass plantings, ornamental grass gardens, perennial gardens, cottage gardens, and for underplanting trees and focal tree form specimens.
