Camellia Sasanqua 'Green 97-039' PP20566' is a moderate growing shrub that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 7A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 6 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 4 feet to 6 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides morning sun with afternoon shade or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the fall Inspiration October Magic Camellia produces pink, white and fuchsia flowers. The foliage is burgundy and dark green in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to heat.
Inspiration October Magic Camellia can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in foundation plantings, as a buffer or screen, in containers or planters, as a background, in shrub borders, as an accent, under a shade tree, as a focal point or in landscape beds or islands and also in theme gardens, cottage gardens or shade gardens.

Inspiration is one of our favoties in the October Magic® Series. In fall, it produces an abundance of gorgeous, large, flowers with white petals with a narrow, magenta-pink margin. The evergreen leaves of Inspiration are deep green through the year however new foliage in spring is maroon. Many camellias grow quite large over time however Inspiration reaches only 6 to 8 feet tall and will be 4 to 5 feet wide when mature, making them an excellent selection for smaller garden spaces.
Uses
Inspiration October Magic Camellia is perfect for use on the corners or as espalier (trained to grow against a wall) in foundation plantings, as a specimen or in small groupings in landscape beds, or as a colorful flowering hedge.
Culture
Camellias prefer a fertile, moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Constantly soggy soil is a slow killer. Your new camellia should not need regular watering after the first year unless there are extended periods of dry weather during summer. Camellias do best in partial shade or filtered sun. Avoid afternoon direct sun
