Additional Information About Sedum sarmentosum - Gold Moss Sedum

Sedum Acre 'Gold Moss' is a fast growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the summer Gold Moss Sedum produces yellow flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

Gold Moss Sedum can be useful in the landscape in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, between stepping stones and pavers or in landscape beds or islands and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, butterfly gardens or perennial gardens.

More About Gold Moss Sedum...

One of our 'Toe Tickler' selections, 'Gold Moss' is a variety of Sedum that forms a low carpet of tiny succulent green leaves, the tips of each stem turning buttery yellow in the spring. Tiny golden star flowers nearly cover the foliage in early summer.

A fast grower, Gold Moss Sedum is best kept away from other mat-forming plants that it might smother. In other words, if you're using it as a groundcover in a rock garden or other bed, don't mix it with other low-growing groundcover plants.

Gold Moss Sedum is excellent as a lawn substitute and also a good choice for tubs and mixed containers. It is perfect for use in Xeriscaping (low water need landscapes) and rock gardens as an attractive, quick-fill groundcover between other drought tolerant plants.

Gold Moss Sedum is very easy to grow in soils that are very well drained. As with other sedums, constantly soggy soil is a killer. Full sun is preferred however a little light shade is tolerated.
