More about the Daisy Hardy Gardenia...

Noteworthy Characteristics

Daisy Gardenia produces an abundance of fragrant, single, daisy-like white flowers in late spring that nearly cover the foliage on somewhat dense, mounding plants to about 3 feet in height with an equal spread.

Uses

It's compact and mounding habit make Daisy Gardenia a good selection for foundation plantings or as a border. Make sure to plant it near windows or outdoor living spaces where the wonderful fragrance can be enjoyed!

Culture

Plant Daisy Gardenia in locations that provide well-drained soils and part sun. In our gardens we plant Gardenias where they will receive morning to early afternoon sun with mid-afternoon shade or filtered sun. Late afternoon and evening sun is okay. Gardenias prefer an acid soil ranging from 4.5 to 6.0. Alkaline soil can cause chlorosis and dimished blooming. That being said, yellowing and shedding of older leaves right before or after flowering is normal. To increase soil acidity add soil sulfur, chelated iron and/or aluminum sulfate. Follow application instructions on product label. Pruning is not required however can be done after bloom to maintain a more dense plant. Ceasing pruning two months prior to the first typical frost date in your area.

I was very concerned about ordering plants online, but my local nurseries did not have daisy gardenias. I saw another site that had free shipping, but after reading the reviews here, I decided to pay the shipping. I am glad I did! My daisy gardenias arrived today in GREAT condition and full of buds! (end of April) We planted them this afternoon. I just went outside to check on them and one of the buds had bloomed already!!!

I am amazed at the plants. They were extremely healthy and much larger than I ever expected. They were well packed and arrived sooner than I expected. I have bought several plants on-line and always been dissappointed, but these were awesome!
