Copper Cascade Heucherella-(Heucherella 'Copper Cascade') is a fast growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 inch to 1 foot and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides shade, morning shade with afternoon sun or filtered sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. The foliage is red and orange in color. It attracts visual attention and is resistant to deer, drought, insects and heat.
Copper Cascade Heucherella-(Heucherella 'Copper Cascade') can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in containers or planters, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, under a shade tree, as a groundcover, in hanging baskets, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens, perennial gardens or shade gardens.
A hybrid between Coral Bells and Foam Flower, Copper Cascade Trailing Heucherella is unique it that it also acts as a vigorous trailing groundcover! It starts out with a mounding habit of broadly lobed leaves in a blend of orange, amber, and apricot tones that change color with the seasons to cinnamon, burnt umber, copper, gold, scarlet and green. It then sends out trailing stems that spread low making it an excellent choice for containers and hanging baskets where it will spill over the sides. Sprays of creamy-white flowers appear in late spring and early summer. Nice choice for edging in a shady perennial border or rock garden.
