Noteworthy Characteristics
Native to warm, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world, Brilliant Red is a tropical hibiscus that produces adundant, huge, extremely showy, hot-red flowers that are sure to be an eyecatcher in your landscape. You can plant it in those far-away spots and it will still shine. Or plant it up close to enjoy the enormous flowers from close up. Glossy, dark green leaves are an extra-added bonus. Can be grown year round as a large shrub or small tree in warmer climates or in containers that can be overwintered indoors during the winter, when temperatures drop below 55 degrees.
Uses
Where hardy outdoors, Brilliant Red Hibiscus is useful as a colorful accent or specimen shrub to highlight entryways, as a hedge or screen, espalier to cover bare walls such as the spaces between windows, or in containers. Where not winter hardy, it can be used outdoors as an annual in beds or as a container plant that can be overwintered indoors or in a greenhouse when low temperatures drop below 55 degrees.
