Leucanthemum Superbum 'Snowcap' is a fast growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 9B. It matures to an average height of 1 foot to 2 feet and an average width of 1 foot to 2 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the summer Snowcap Daisy produces white flowers. The foliage is dark green in color. It attracts butterflies, wildlife and visual attention and is resistant to deer, insects, diseases and heat.
Snowcap Daisy can be useful in the landscape along woodland borders, in mass plantings, in containers or planters, as a border or edger, around decks, swimming pools, and other outdoor living areas, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in cottage gardens, butterfly gardens or perennial gardens.
'Snowcap' shasta daisy is a compact, yet large-flowered selection of this classic garden perennial. In early to midsummer, very big white daisies with yellow centers appear atop upright, rigid stems lined with course dark green foliage. These make excellent, long-lasting cut flowers and are attractive to butterflies.
Due to its compact nature, Snowcap Daisy tolerates weather better than most Shasta daisies. A must-have for the sun garden, mixing effortlessly with other garden perennials!
