More About Leslie Ann Camellia...

Noteworthy Characteristics

'Leslie Ann' is one of the finest landscape camellias to come out of America in recent times. This stunning variety received the Ralph Peer Sasanqua Award in 1961. The blooms open initially as a formal double. Usually within a day, the flowers continue to open up into a semi-double form. The most striking feature of the white flowers of is the unique lavender pink border around each petal.

Uses

Leslie Ann camellia is a lower growing shrub that is useful in home foundation plantings, in small to large groupings in landsca[pe beds, or in straight or curved rows to form attractive, evergreen hedges and screens.

Culture

Camellias prefer a fertile, moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Constantly soggy soil is a slow killer. Your new camellia should not need regular watering after the first year unless there are extended periods of dry weather during summer. Camellias do best in partial shade or filtered sun. Avoid afternoon direct sun
