Chester - Blackberry is a fast and moderate growing shrub and vining plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 5A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 5 feet to 8 feet and an average width of 4 feet to 8 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun, morning sun with afternoon shade or morning shade with afternoon sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the spring Chester - Blackberry produces bright yellow flowers. The foliage is light green in color. It attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, wildlife, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to drought, diseases and heat.

Chester - Blackberry can be useful in the landscape as a border or edger, as a background, in shrub borders, as an accent or to accentuate entryways and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, cottage gardens, herb gardens, perennial gardens or shade gardens.
