Solar Flare False Indigo is a fast growing perennial plant that can be grown in USDA Plant Hardiness Zones 4A through 8B. It matures to an average height of 2 feet to 3 feet and an average width of 3 feet to 4 feet, depending on climate and other environmental factors. It prefers growing in a location that provides full sun and grows best when planted in sand, loam, clay or silt soil that is well drained. In the spring Solar Flare False Indigo produces yellow and golden yellow flowers. The foliage is medium green in color. It attracts butterflies, visual attention and songbirds / birds and is resistant to deer, drought, insects, diseases, mildew and heat.

Solar Flare False Indigo can be useful in the landscape in shrub borders, in landscape beds or islands or in small groupings and also in rock or xeriscape gardens, theme gardens, cottage gardens or butterfly gardens.

More About Baptisia Solar Flare...

Striking lemon yellow flowers bloom along 12-18 inch spikes that rise above the bright blue-green foliage. Baptisia Solar Flare puts on it's magnificent show of amazing color late spring through early summer. The flowers open yellow, then turn to a rusty orange blush as they age. Both colors are present at the same time giving a very impressive, unique flower color all of it's own. Mature plants are know to bear over 100 flower stalks!
