More About Purple Showers Mexican Petunia...

One of our favorite perennials, Purple Showers Mexican Petunia, Ruellia simplex 'Purple Showers', is a very versatile and easy-to-grow perennial in USDA Zones 8a-11 (maybe 7?). The plant forms attractive, large clumps of erect, deep purplish stems that are clothed in dark-green, willow-like leaves that are tinged in purple. Trumpet-shaped, petunia-like purple-lavender flowers are produced from late spring through fall....year round in zones where it remains evergreen. Can be grown as an annual in beds or containers north of  Zone 7.
