Compacta Bamboo Nandina
Nandina domestica 'Compacta'
Compacta Nandina is a more compact form of the old fashioned bamboo nandina. Just like it's parent, it produces panicles of white, star-shaped flowers in late spring or early summer. The flowers are followed by clusters of showy red berries that provide nice color through winter. The dark green, finely-textured, evergreen foliage turns to attractive shades of red and orange during winter. Easy to grow in well-drained soils. No disease or insect problems. Berries are attractive to birds.
Compacta Nandina is
ideal for use as a natural hedge in the sunny or shady landscape, planted around air conditioning units as a screen, or as a specimen.
