Bordeaux Dwarf Yaupon Holly
Ilex vomitoria 'Bordeaux'

It's dense growth habit and superior hardiness makes Bordeaux Dwarf Yaupon one of the best evergreen shrubs for use in foundation plantings or as a low hedge. Exceptionally low maintenance when placed and spaced properly in staggered or straight rows in foundation planting but also shears well for a formal look. Equally as useful in landscape beds and islands planted in small or large groups or as a hedge. The small, rounded leaves emerge wine-red in color and turn to grey-green as they mature. Prefers sun but will tolerate partial shade. Drought tolerant but will also withstand moist soil better than other holly.
