Silver Dragon Liriope
Liriope spicata 'Silver Dragon'
Silver Dragon Liriope
is a grass-like perennial which forms clumps of narrow, green leaves
striped with beautiful silver and ivory. Erect flower spikes with pale
lavender flowers arise among the leaves in late summer followed by black
berries. Stunning contrast with dark foliage plants. Spreads fast under
shallow-rooted trees and along streams or ponds. Useful in rock
gardens, edging paths, borders and accents. Excellent around boulders or
rocks. A very drought-tolerant plant suitable for Xeriscaping.

Planting Instructions: Silver Dragon Liriope will
grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. Tilling soil will facilitate faster
growth.
Fertilization: Does not require much
fertilization, however, a light feeding in spring with a well-balanced plant
food can be beneficial to accelerate growth rate.
Alternatively, you may use a natural or organic, non-burning plant food. Refer
to product label for application rates and instruction.
Pruning: No pruning necessary. If foliage
becomes damaged or dingy-looking after winter, can be mowed with a lawn mower
before new growth begins to emerge in
spring.
Pest
Control: This plant typically encounters very few pest or disease
problems. If a pest or disease problem is identified, treat with an insecticide
product, preferably one containing "Neem oil". Neem oil is a safe, triple-action
product that can be used to control insects, mites and diseases.
