Purple Diamond Loropetalum
Loropetalum chinensis 'Shanghi' Purple Diamond PPIP

Purple Diamond Loropetalum is a smaller growing variety that boasts some of the most intense purple foliage color of any plant on the market. Vibrant pink, witchhazel-like, fringy blooms are heavy in spring, appear occasionally in summer, and again in fall. The foliage provides a stunning contrast with the pink flowers. Mature height is about 4 to 5 feet with an equal spread. It can be pruned or sheared year-round for a more formal shape or to limit size.

Purple Diamond is an easy to grow, low maintenance shrub useful as a foundation plant, a hedge, accent, or in small to large groupings in landscape beds. Well drained soil is essential for all loropetalum.

In our trial gardens, we've had Purple Diamond growing in sites that provide anywhere from full sun to half a days shade. Though not picky about soil type, well drained soil is essential for this plant.
