English Ivy
Hedera helix

English Ivy is a fast growing, trailing evergreen groundcover with highly ornamental maple-shaped leaves that are dark green, shiny and take on a purplish cast in winter. Will grow in most any well-drained soil. Tolerates sun however prefers afternoon shade in southern zones. Will cling to and climb porous surfaces such as concrete, stone or brick. Can become invasive if left to spread to woodland areas.
