Blue Star Creeper
Isotoma axillaris 'Blue Stars' a/k/a Laurentia


 One of favorite stepable groundcovers, Blue Star Creeper is a pretty little workhorse that is easy to grow and extremely versatile because it's so rugged. Forming a mat about an inch tall, you can use Blue Star Creeper as a lawn substitute, around pools or ponds, in the garden or between stepping stones and even in pots. It looks and fills in especially nice around stones and boulders. A great feature of Blue Star Creeper is that it remains in bloom pretty much all season, until frost. In warmer climates it will remain evergreen all year. In hot summer climates it will need some shade in the summer and supplemental irrigation during prolong periods of drought.
