Autumn Empress is useful in foundation plantings, in small or large groupings in landscape beds, as an informal hedge, or singularly in containers. Performs particularly well under tall pine trees. As with most azaleas, this one prefers acidic, well-drained moist soil, but does not like consistently wet feet. Will tolerate full sun, however prefers some afternoon shade. Attracts butterflies. Huge quantities of pretty, deep  medium pink trumpet flowers are produced in Spring, Summer and Fall! Most impressive when planted in groups or mass plantings in landscape beds. Works well in foundation plantings and large containers or planters. As with most azaleas, this one prefers acidic, well-drained soil. Does not like wet feet.
